What is ITF-14?

ITF-14 (Interleaved 2 of 5, 14 digits) encodes a GTIN-14 and is printed on shipping cartons and cases rather than individual retail items.

How the check digit works

ITF-14 uses the same modulo-10 checksum as other GTINs. The results panel shows the payload, the computed check digit and the full 14-digit number.

Bearer bars help scanners read the code reliably on corrugated cardboard and reduce partial scans. They're part of the ITF-14 print specification for cases.

Limitations

ITF-14 encodes exactly 14 digits — it isn't for arbitrary text. A generated image doesn't create a registered GTIN.
